FATRACING PROTitle of the issue: "BALD ABOUT CYCLING IN NOVOSIBIRSK AND BEYOND | ALEXANDER AEROD"
Alexander Aeraud lives in Novosibirsk, gathers a team there, trains amateurs and makes videos about racing and technology. In almost two hours, he tells why there are almost no road races left in Siberia, how much aerodynamics actually costs, how to combine training with a five-day program and how long it takes for one video with telemetry.
An amateur cyclist and team captain from Novosibirsk, coach and author of a cycling blog on YouTube, formerly a master of sports in practical shooting.
Aerodynamics do not compensate for the large difference in power. It is worth investing in it when the level is already high and there are not enough seconds to reach the podium.
A tight-fitting jumpsuit, a well-fitting inexpensive helmet, high-profile wheels and a simple disc at the back give the bulk of the winnings in a separate start. Expensive little things are important only at a high level.
A few watts of savings from a bicycle mean nothing compared to the ability to stay on the wheel, choose a place in the pack and survive a 600-800 Watt jerk.
The main requirement for a bicycle is a clear shift, serviceable brakes and normal tires. The failure of equipment in the attack is more expensive than any air game.
If your heart rate goes above the threshold during a subthreshold interval, your body is not ready that day. It's better to underdo than overdo.
Late training eats up sleep, namely at night the body adapts to the load. If time is short, it is better to get up earlier and go to bed earlier.
Build a normal diet, take tests and make up for real deficits. Cans of additives are not needed without checking, and excess, for example iron, can do harm.
It is pointless to repeat Pogachar's training: strong riders have been going to their level for years. The load needs to be increased smoothly.
When Alexander skipped training for vital reasons, he often felt better at the next interval: his head and nervous system also needed rest.
For video with telemetry, a camera that writes the entire race in one file is more convenient: each additional fragment will have to be separately synchronized with the FIT file.
Alexander moved to Novosibirsk from Ufa in 2020 and did not find a full-fledged cycling team there: the city is stretched, it's hard to get together, the old team has left. Then he began to gather active guys for quick rides himself, and a team grew out of them, where he is the captain.
According to him, there are almost no road races left in Siberia: there is one on the calendar for 2026. Previously, there were grant funds in Tomsk and Kuzbass, but they were killed by approvals — the race could have been canceled in a couple of days when the participants had already bought tickets. The organizers went into the forest: there is a minimum package of documents, and almost no one will cancel the start. The basis of local sports is the Siberian Cup of 11 multi—format races - cross-country, gravel and forest marathons. Strong cross-country racers, they don't need a separate gravel, so the gravel class appeared only after a former track rider on a rented gravel went into a breakaway and won.
Alexander came to cycling from running and duathlon. Nine months after starting, he was already holding around 300 watts in a twenty-minute effort, but quickly realized that the number on the indoor trainer is not everything: in a race, it's important to know when to push and when to conserve energy. The most noticeable growth, in his observation, happens in the first couple of years, then you add a little each year — if not in watts, then in racing experience.
His strong side is anaerobic effort for a minute or two, his weak side is pure sprint. He compares cycling with boxing and chess: decisions need to be made instantly, and it is impossible to predict by FTP whether you will be able to give 500 watts at the right moment to get out of the box. He doesn't like long races psychologically: after a couple of hours of driving, interest simply disappears. Therefore, he is not going to Tsar Grader, especially since he has business trips in June.
The nickname Aeroad is in honor of the Canyon Aeroad bike, and the guest admits that he himself went the way when you buy everything with the word "aero". His conclusion: watts are primary. The one who turns 200 watts will not overtake the one who turns 400, no matter how he sits. Aerodynamics starts to decide when the level is high and the rivals are nearby — and its contribution grows with speed.
In a time trial, according to a friend's advice, who's a strong amateur, it's worth investing in aero when you're a few seconds short of the podium. A tight-fitting jersey, an inexpensive but well-fitting helmet, high-profile wheels, and a simple rear disc make almost all the difference. In a group race, a 5–10 W difference in the bike means almost nothing: positioning in the pack and the ability to withstand a surge are more important. His teammate, a former professional, beat him in a sprint on an inexpensive Chinese bike, causing Alexander to lose his wheel. A bike, like a sports pistol, needs to be reliable above all: to shift and brake properly. He boils down the Shimano vs. SRAM debate to the same thing: a strong rider will perform on any groupset as long as it doesn't fail.
Alexander has a five-day workweek from nine to six, so his volumes are modest: in winter, 5–8 hours a week, during the season up to 12–13, about 400 hours on the bike per year. He considers the volume to be the main reason for his stagnation. He can't stand the trainer for more than two hours, but he can comfortably ride an MTB for three hours at minus ten. Advice for those who work: train early in the morning and go to bed earlier, not finishing intervals at midnight before getting up at six.
He calls the cycle of load and rest the main training principle: the body adjusts during recovery, and sleep, nutrition, and stress levels are its foundation. He writes to his trainees not only the target power, but also the expected heart rate: if the heart rate goes above the threshold at the sweet spot, it's better not to push the training that day. He advises amateurs, especially older ones, to get rid of the mindset that 'if you didn't finish on the trainer, the time was wasted'.
The most serious fall happened in the first season in Ufa: at a speed of 40 km / h, he turned to his partner, moved to the right, his hand reached for the bump — and both fell on a busy avenue. There were stitches. He quit smoking in his youth, did not drink at all for more than ten years, and now he hardly drinks.
About sports, his position is cautious: first, build a normal diet, then take tests and fill in only real deficits. He himself takes vitamin D in winter, omega and a little magnesium. The guest emphasizes that he is not an expert, and warns against uncontrolled intake of supplements like iron, an excess of which is also harmful.
A short overview is shot and mounted in an evening, and an analytical video like a comparison of Shimano and SRAM requires a plan, information collection, light, sound settings, and several hours of editing. The most time—consuming is the race review with telemetry. To do this, Alexander shoots the entire race in one take on a camera that writes up to four hours, synchronizes the video with a FIT file in Garmin VIRB Edit, records the voice over, cuts out pauses and collects a teaser. One race takes about two full working days.
The blog brings almost no money: with an audience of about 11 thousand subscribers, this is done for the soul, and it is impossible to combine a full-fledged blog with work and family. He is not going to Moscow for the race: the vacation is planned for a year, the starts were canceled there, and there are enough races around Novosibirsk within a radius of 250 km, where you can go in one day.
He considers infrastructure to be the main problem: there are very few velodromes in a huge country, and road training takes place on narrow federal highways among trucks. A closed track would provide space for both amateurs and professionals all year round.
The second thought is accessibility. Alexander conducts courses for beginners and sees that there is no intermediate step between the top twenty and the 80 km marathon. Short starts like the relay race in duathlon help people try the race and want more, and super distances require serious preparation.

Ilya: Well, let's start. Today we have a podcast, a conversation, an interview with Alexey. . . Oh, with Alexander, an aerodrom from Novosibirsk. Original from Ufa, if I remember correctly. Here. So, Sanya, introduce yourself and let's go through the questions.
Alexander: Let's go Yes. My name is Alexander, an amateur gologoner. I work part-time. A little bit of captaincy here in the Novosibirsk team. It seems to be the third largest city. The team, there are no movements. In general, nothing special. I am trying to develop and popularize our wonderful sport. And I give all my time to this case. In principle, in short, everything.
Ilya: by the way, why do you really have one team in Novosibirsk?
Alexander: look, I moved here in 2020, conditionally, a newcomer there and tried to see what, where there are, what movements. one team, Novosibirsk, was called Masterson, that is, the guys went straight to them, team training and then somehow one left, the other left, plus we have logistics, I do not know how in Moscow.
Ilya: and that's basically it.
Alexander: it is clear that the city, but due to the fact that the city itself, Novosibirsk, is stretched too far, someone lives in our Akademgorodok, it's in the south almost outside the city, someone there is in someone else somewhere, and it's hard to gather. And one fine moment, just such a team did not exist. And I, on the contrary, was looking for somewhere to get stuck, some kind of activity, learn from experience, and so on. And in the end, it's a long story about the team in general. I decided to collect the guys myself. We rolled them out together somewhere, some kind of rides, some kind of tightness we did, standard coffee rides. It so happened that they joined my team, and then we came. We've all known each other for a long time. And, unfortunately, in Siberia, I also thought about it before the podcast, before ours, we have guys from different cities there, too, here in Siberia, in Tomsk, in general, the founders of Altai Sightling Team. the most numerous, and Seryozha Maslenkov, the captain who organized all this, a very long time ago. And also in Tomsk I saw the Legion guys there, there are a few people who just go to jersey, but as such, you come to a race somewhere and just look at the race results to see a stable composition, how to understand that the team has been formed at all, no, there is a clear captain, for example, who decided to assemble ... he can to perform various functions, people may not work for him there, it doesn't matter, but there is some kind of team and everything will be arranged around this. It's not easy, the dudes have arrived, let's declare our team, and let's go. we were there that year, on the 25th there, we could not assemble a full-fledged team, a TVZ tour, we have such a small multi-day, but there are strong guys there, Kostya Milanin arrived, who is with HBFS now, and here the masters of sports, Anton Yakushevsky, they are there . . . they called themselves there do not threaten the southern central, that is there is a team, but it's not in the original understanding of what led the team at all, so yes, I also don't understand why the third city in terms of numbers, but I myself am a visitor and there are people, but all this is an incomprehensible movement, so so
Ilya: And so in general, you don't seem to be complaining in terms of movements it is in Siberia that you have, that is, there are enough road races, there are enough mntbs for gravel marathons, you don't even need to move anyone, there is enough to Moscow, to St. Petersburg.
Alexander: look, you probably haven't seen it, I'm in extreme videos, I even made a separate video for the channel, a calendar of our races in Siberia, which we know. And I have already said there a couple of times this year, on the 26th, we have one or one road race left. That is, earlier, right up to the fact that Anton Kudinov from Tomsk organized his races there in Tomsk, and he broke through the Grand Fund franchise. There is a cool Grant fund both in Tomsk and in Kuzbass. Moreover, you come to Kuzbass, there are such normal lifts, there is a race of 1300 meters, it is such a semi-mountain. And the beginning is normal. The guys went to Altai there, but then everything came up against administrative difficulties. I just now already understand how it happens. There are stages of coordination, and at the last moment there are traffic police, administration, something else. Someone was not standing there, some official got up in the morning. Let's go. Moreover, there is a cancellation there in Tomsk a couple, three days before the race, sorry, but someone already bought there has already arrived there and once such, two and now we have left in Altai, the guys are doing it. This is the main problem, I do not know again how in Moscow, I see that you have a lot of development in the central regions, in this regard, both Cycling Race and Grand Fonda are there, just who is doing it, who is punching it, this question is very weighty, because everything rests on it. And as a result, there are fewer and fewer organizers, and no one wants to do this, and everyone has gone into the forest. And I am often asked the question, what do you have there with gravel racing? answering, what is the point? We have enough backbone, and we are in Siberia, counter, thoroughbred cross-counter, MTB, two-suspension, hardtails, and there is a cup. The cup we have 11 races, different. classic cruise country, there are marathons, gravel marathons, there are forest marathons, and you drive this whole series throughout the year. and so it turns out that this is the main backbone of the riders, all the corners, and they don't need a separate gravel. I don't know, it just happened that way historically, it's a fact of how it happened. And although we have a couple of races, this is a pure gravel race, it can be characterized by gravel, and a cool climb and reliefs. there are asphalt sections of shit, that is, straight, normal. And there is a separate gravel class, but there is a slight collision in the sense that they are divided into different classes in order to first put everyone together in a bunch. And we have an organizer, Seryozha Kashin, a new neighbor, there is a settlement here, organizes. I say, Seryozha, you understand, the gravel is not quite, that is, especially when on a clean gravel. mtbshnik does not have an advantage on the reserved seat you go out to the aeropostage, you really go that he, Seryozha, was involved in the sports school there as a child, he understands the issue deeply and he answers as soon as there is a clear advantage, we will make a separate class and that year we have Danila Pekhotin there, we have such a young boy in the past msmc on The track from Kazakhstan is leaving in a breakaway, no one is twitching at it. and while we are there, I apologize to each other for the slang, he left with the ends, and the first one arrived, we are all there. Although he's not even there on his gravel drive, he left, rented it, and this year he's doing a separate class. But the main problem is that the whole backbone of strong riders, it's not just there now, like I am there, but right about the real level of the guys we have. they don't need it, they are mtbshnik and they are on it as well as the dudes there on gravel. and that's it, that is, MTB, whatever, the highway, there is a sports school here in Keymerova, there are races, but I go there periodically, you know, I've never watched a competition take place there.
Ilya: I saw them, the schoolboys themselves, but to be honest, I only watched them on videos, I can't remember what the specific essence is there. But they are like that, they are fierce guys.
Alexander: now we are not talking about fierceness, but about the organization of races, that is, what is the point. This is us, we arrived, one crowd, they were divided by age, and they have boys, then age juniors, there are girls and so on, and then adults. And that is, formally, I come to the event in Kemerovo, there are 100 people there, for Siberia, for the race, not when they are divided into groups. . . . . at the very end there are 10-15 people who are adults, these are straight men, yes, like us, and juniors. Juniors are the oldest athletes. we are launched with them, and it turns out we are there, two dozen of these unfortunate people go. And although the race is even there, but the people, I don't know, are chasing status or something. That is, we have some iconic races in Siberia, like your Tsar Grader, yes, for example, we have a Kra Sport there, for example, and everything there, for example, I don't really like such races, but everything is right there, the hype around these races. and so it turns out, this is what we have come to.
Ilya: Subscribers, by the way, asked which races in the 26th year are your priorities? Apparently, probably all sorts of counterintuitive, right?
Alexander: look, earlier, when I studied all the techniques, and even now there is a concept of priority races A, C and so on. And the exits are at their peak. One peak output per season, two peak outputs. And once, about four years ago, I tried to stick to this. Back then, in fact, I had an accent on the Duathlon – this is the Beck bike. And there it worked, and the air races, they are passing, such. And now we have a really active summer season. almost every week there are some races, two-day races. And it's hard to reach this peak. And, that is, it's hard to guess some kind of basic race for yourself. there is a cup, what I was talking about, the Siberian Cup, there are 11 races. And they are all different. Cross-country starts, then gravel marathon, then forest marathon, then we have cross-country on the Mountain. purposefully something is being brought down, it's hard. there are some that I like. I really like pure gravel. They are like and like a highway, and at the same time it is not so boring. In terms of the fact that when you fall on a clean highway, the asphalt is a little bit boring. And when there is gravel, there are some pebbles, there are small obstacles. But once again I look, there are some such tests for you at all. In this regard, he is like that. . . I don't know if it's humane, but due to the relief, there are thousands of meters for 80 kilometers, there is where to suffer, so that's it.
Ilya: It's also humane for us on a cyrgrader, if they don't say there in two days, as you said, officials, go.
Alexander: Here the main problem for the audience is once again, in the overlap. the resource is delayed, and GBDD, and all these cases. Therefore, our guys who are engaged in organizations, they also go to road races, they are also cantria. They say there are no problems in the forest. They are preparing a minimum package of documents, anyway there are some kind of approvals there, something like that should. But no one in the forest will cancel there, that is, it is unlikely. Of course, we had some incidents there too in a couple of days. We come to get acquainted with the distance, they hang up the markings there, and some aunt doesn't go there in an adequate way. "What are you doing here? I don't know about you there, I won't file it." Nothing there, some kind of showdown there is so incomprehensible. That is, sometimes such people can lead to some kind of turmoil. I will write a statement to the police about you there, they will come to you tomorrow, no competition for you. And there people have already gathered under 300 people. 300 people. Including children, but this is a lot for our region. And such things seemed to be a forest, a forest park area, but sometimes outside forces can also intervene, unfortunately.
Ilya: So, how many years did it take you to reach the current level? How many years have you been studying?
Alexander: the question is so rhetorical, complicated. I consider myself conditionally still so, not that a beginner, not a veteran. We have guys who have been racing for 15 years, and there are guys in general back in the early fifties, when I didn't know what a bike was. Therefore, from year to year, all the same, the results for some individual positions, if we have some figures, they are increasing. and here it's hard to say how much, that is, every year I'm slowly gaining somewhere in something, if it's not cotton wool, then it's a racing experience, it's not enough to have cotton wool when it's not in the stadium, where you do an even layout there, you need to know where to turn on, where to sit out, where to shift, and this experience is gained only with racing. If it's about numbers, I also thought about it in the question, when I started, I was heavier, I was sitting there 80-82 kilograms on purpose. I got on a bike and in general, I couldn't drive 25 kilometers per hour uphill. But 9 months after the season, 300 watts were turned off for 20 minutes there, then something 320 to 340. enough for a year and a half. But now I understand that this is just a figure on the machine. Because at the end of the race, when the race is not 20 minutes, only if we do not time trial. there are 2-3 hours there, there are some 4, and I dumped it out there, I arrived somewhere in the middle, and the numbers are not level, that is, now I climb into the bedside table somewhere, sometimes in absolute, so it's difficult. and so, answering the question, you're slowly progressing anyway, progressing, so it's hard to say. The main peak, by the way, is noted by many who are engaged somewhere during the first two years, if you are straight active. If there is some small sports body does not understand what they want from it, then there is a sharp increase, about a year and a half, and there are a lot of such guys. And you can also go to the plateau, but most often even this level is enough later to be hacked in your category for some kind of bedside table. Therefore, the question here is really so philosophical. Something like that, a couple of years, but now every year you add something to something.
Ilya: Yes, I agree, there is a noticeable growth in the first couple of years, the first couple of seasons, then there is a very slow growth, very slow. and it's rare for him to be there when he goes crazy like that, only if some drugs are already there and start to be taken, probably.
Alexander: it seems to me that the catch is cycling, the specifics, when we start to drive up to this level, we get a sharp one and just this level, conditionally 4 quilted jackets per kilogram, and then that's it, you go out to the plateau and therefore you overclocked your form, realized everything, and then just as you say rested, that is, here it is already necessary to revise the entire preparation. that is, to multiply the volumes, or something else like that. What I'm talking about is cycling. Because of the ragged specifics, you're riding in a pack, even you're weak, the strain has started, you can't just watch it leave you, you start. That is, you, like it or not, are pumping onerop, unlike. took his pace, and he ran. If he burns himself out for 5 minutes at first, then he will just walk. a completely different specificity. Cross-country skiing, by the way, today I went to a local ski race here, it's also not the same as cycling.
Ilya: We're still talking about you. Your main strength as a racer and maybe a weak point. What do you think?
Alexander: It's hard to say a strong one here, but it's already been noticed many times, even when I started, I said from an amateur that there is an anaerobic piece. For example, our distances are small at work there, for example, 3 kilometers, a kilometer of 800 meters are such classic, even the top five was considered long. and there the guys, on the three-wheel drive, could bring me 30-40 seconds, 3 kilometers, for understanding it in the region of 10 minutes. there a little bit out of 10 I ran out. 30-40 seconds. And when we were 800 meters away, I was either with them or even overtook them at the finish line. That is, it is a strong bias in anaerobic. And 800 meters is two minutes with a penny. So I'm about. And the same bush. And I don't train it. That is, there is a short segment. even I just do something there at regular intervals, go out there. Not champion cotton wool, but they have a strong advantage in anaerobic. and you don't even have to train. but the problem is that we also had a race, I was sitting, thinking, if I was racing on the track, some kind of sprint distance is ideal, you are mashed up, fresh and gave a piece there in pure Anaerobic, there is lactate there 20 mm. but it turns out for us, suppose there is a strong piece for a minute or two. And you have a race of 3, 5 hours in your legs. You arrive, and you can't realize this short piece of yours. It's a little different here. If it's about strengths. Weak. The weak ones are the sprint. Since the time. Again, you ask some kind of test about something in your youth. Dudes us in 12 seconds. And I can't run out of 13. But again, who hasn't encountered it. I was doing work, acceleration uphill, some other. But there are 13-13, 5. And we have dudes who do leg presses, with such they are for 12. Sprint. 100 meters. And the same is great. And muscle mass, and slow fibers. But the situation changes as soon as it is not 100 meters, but 300-400. That is, when we are 400 it is a minute. I'm there for 56 seconds and the dudes have been there for a minute 0, 5, and they were running away from me by hundreds. That's why there are weak sprints here, I said. Still, probably, some kind of smooth traction. Torn classic races, highways, SMB races, they are also very difficult, they pass in the forest, you don't relax for a minute. There are dudes who. . . Time trial on mtb, they drive me, but in such a race they dump out and they are stronger for me, but during the race of the jerky mode they fall off somewhere there. here, too, you need to look at the context. cycling is really a very difficult topic and how do you realize your capabilities. the same racing, we have a favorite measured in centimeters long there with these cotton wool and so on. Well, I know my critical power there for 5 minutes, for 20 minutes. But from this, to predict how the race will go, you were stupid, they squeezed you in a box, and you need to give a piece of 500 watts there for a minute, for example, to get over, How do you know if you can give it in the race code or not. Therefore, here, yes, everything is not easy.
Ilya: Cycling is like chess, this sport is somewhat similar.
Alexander: Yes, yes, yes. And really need and. I used to do some kind of question for a certain part of my life, in my youth I devoted to martial arts, hand-to-hand fighting, kickboxing. And if you start thinking in you will get. everything is there only on instincts, when you put defensive actions, percussion, and you do all this on an instinctive level. There is some kind of general strategy. either you're a puncher, or you're on the retreat somehow attacking. It's about. And in races, when they are, you really have to make a decision instantly. It is necessary to shift, it is not necessary. Someone will give you a ride, someone will not give you a ride. And here, too, in this regard, everything is not easy. There are really strong dudes, he comes out, I have such and such an ACCIDENT there, I think I'm sorry. And then you look, and where is he at the race? You can't see him at the race. Yes, it is.
Ilya: I understood that in order to fully reveal you, it is necessary that another track be built in Novosibirsk.
Alexander: There is one question that I wanted to change in amateur cycling. Okay, then we'll get to it. there is a thought about the track, you started talking.
Ilya: So, how do you feel about the ultradistance? In general, what distances are good for you there? What do you think about long distances?
Alexander: what I think about long distances is that it's very popular in general in general. And watch the discipline, I'm from the beginning. There, if you go out for five, five kilometers, who are you, ? For a ball, or something, right? That is, there are ten, it's even like that, half, 21, 42, that's it, you're a normal kid. It's the same in triathlon. That is, a sprint, what, a sprint distance, an hour and that's it, or what? That is, it is not serious. And they have half a randman there, full of randmen. And I'm looking now, all the same things are projected on cycling. That is, the longer it is, it is some kind of overcoming. and all that. Initially, I said, in my youth, the distances were 800, 1000, 3 kilometers. 3 kilometers 10 minutes and went home. When I came to cycling, weaving. Even with speed, it's not much. Three o'clock. kapets. And long distances, about the cyrgrainer will go a little later, I just can't stomach it. my ceiling, it's somewhere when I go to long-term workouts, for example, 2, 5 hours I drive up, and, you know, I want to start cycling. I have the strength, everything is fine, but just as it cuts off, I don't just want to go further, I'm not interested, that is, what for. And the same thing happens at the race, when it happens, you go there, you still have the strength, but then at some point you're like this. there are individual preferences and purely human psychology. To do something in the cross-country, In the short track, it seems to me, if I tried the short track, we just don't have a counter-test, then it probably went too. Where you need to get involved as much as possible, endure, endure and then leave. And I understand perfectly well that we are becoming very competitive guys now, I watch your podcasts there, and I think so, so, what am I missing? When Kolya Zemlyanovich said there, my volumes are approaching 800 hours a year. I'm like, what, 800? that is, I got 440, this is with and still with some activity, I counted a clean bike, a little less than 400. I understand that it's just about nothing. to type it, somewhere long to include, if work allows. I have a 5-day working day, it's hard with this. And when you go on a long-term, MTB, thanks to the MTBs, it's much easier. The picture changes, the reliefs change, you poked some point on the map, I'll go there, and you don't notice. The highway, I remember, 2 years ago, is like this. . . In winter, you do charged intervals like this. Now only the first snow will come down. outside the city of zabroski. Outside the city, it's snowing all over the Federals. I'm like, zero degrees, there's five, I don't give a fuck. on the highway, do everything in a skating rink. I'm leaving the first training session, hungry. It takes two hours on the highway. I'm driving alone, there's a truck flying something. It's just the beginning of the season, I don't want to go anymore. This is a speech about long-term. And the same as at the races. Adjusted for the fact that when you go to the races in a pack, some kind, and when everyone has already calmed down, it's still work, you pay attention to something, and time passes. It's a little simpler here. But racing 100 plus kilometers, it's probably even incorrect here, because a beginner of 100 kilometers can go for 5 hours. But okay, let the mileage. Racing 100 plus – it still requires a little bit of a different mindset and distance training. Because, as usual, at first they hope, then the second half begins, and we have such a local joke, everything in the coffee ride is exceeded. No one can pull, someone is leaving alone, who is catching up – we are not catching up. Therefore, from the point of view of philosophy, these races, the Tsar Grader, the American races are completely different. something delayed the answer to this question. such races are not suitable for my psychotype, and I understand when I start going like this, I force myself to drive and start baling myself. Do I need it? I don't want to do that. when some short came, rested, I'm happy, glad and that's it.
Ilya: you have the nickname Aeroad in honor of the canyon. Tell us about your relationship with aerodynamics in general and what is more important, which is more important than watts or aerodynamics? I see that you are already aerodynamic even now.
Alexander: Here we need a little explanation in which discipline, because this is a highway, this is a split race, this is MTB. We immediately remove MTB, there is no point even looking at it. how, it makes sense when there are long stretches, it's just the same Leadville, there are these American ones. What kind of discipline is it about now?
Ilya: So let's go to the one that you have in general some kind of research, I don't know, suffering. with MTB, I think, yes, there is not much to discuss there.
Alexander: look, when our lake path initially sat down in general, yes, it's 19 years old and I'm like this, so there's an erodynamics I saw some kind of video there, these jisains were still the first to start, they put 50 mm wheels such as it gives them, they start measuring them there at such a power there plus 0 as much as 5 kilometers an hour at such a power there plus 0 as much as 5 kilometers an hour I am so interesting and in one it seems to me every man, guy, no matter who buys a highway for himself and wants to improve some seconds, this way passes. You start to get tired and look out for every aeronestak. I've had this joke before. I bought everything on avito, where the inscription "Aero helmet", "Aero jersey", "Aero underpants" and so on, "Aero socks" is written. And you start measuring, looking. And at a certain point. . . okay, now let's omit the numbers. Let's talk about discipline directly. If it's a road race, a group race, then we have… Not so, let's start with TT-shny races. You are alone, there is wind resistance, gravity is not now and there are no losses when trending and swinging. Let's just say that if you are an average person by weight of 75 kg, if you drive 200 watts ... you sit down at least as ordinamically, blow yourself in the pipe, you are not a win for a dude who turns 400 watts. There are amateurs who spin 400 watts each. That is, if you answer what is more important, watts are definitely more important. But all other things being equal, when you start to the bedside table, and the higher the speed, that is, it's already been told repeatedly there and in the videos at home, the higher the speed, the higher the contribution of the ordinamics. And even at 40 kilometers, well . . . if we compare 40 and 45 kmh. 40 are such average amateurs, 45 are already such top amateurs. elites, something like that. In the pilotone when I watched the garden ring, 47 kmh. It's tough. there are active sportscasters. 47 per hundred, 120 km. Here. And it turns out that it works. the level should be higher, the cotton wool should be higher, with less it is quite a bit. And that is, it continues to work, even someone says there from 30 kilometers per hour, formally even measured, aerodynamics starts working somewhere in my opinion from 22, it starts working early enough, yes, even we are going to the finish race in the forest, our average speed there is 20-25 and I clearly feel when I I'm sitting on the wheel and you're driving there, I've already driven a couple of meters away in the fourth zone, and I feel that it's harder for me to strain myself and I'm getting as close as possible again and it's in the forest, that is, it's already working here, too, but there's no way to do with wat, so the primary power anyway, and then when you've reached some level and next to other guys, you need to cut out seconds, then you have to have aerodynamics, there are a lot of factors, landing is the most basic thing, I rent our bald spot normally, the flow needs to be started by a fan so that it can be clearly seen. Equipment, yes. But here, again, someone is starting to give out. he sat down, oh, a fold. And he thinks that . . . he's driving at an average speed of 37 kilometers per hour, oh, fold. what, people are laughing. That is, you need to talk about this when you are already aiming for an Olympic medal there, and you have a combat suit there for you and so on. and serious. . . Time trial we do not have such strong butchers as you have, yes, but there is under 45 kilometers an hour to go, yes, then every little thing starts to play a role there is 40 plus if you stop by there in the middle of the race results what's the point there is such a good racer in Perm bones samsonkin five this as in the jargon we have 5 padded jacket now unfortunately with Radarov disappeared, but very strong amateurs and this Perm guys know him there And I consulted him a lot at the initial stage, asked something. And he says, and moreover he answers so modestly, not that buy it there, buy it, buy a disc wheel back, buy an air helmet. And he's like this, when you go and understand, you didn't have enough seconds to reach the podium, that's all, this is the first reason to think about what else to improve aerodynamics. I wanted to say speed, no, this is a paid speed. but if a tight-fitting combat suit, even with an olishka, even if a cheap helmet, but it sits normally, that flow flow is normal here, plus or minus, it sat compactly, the wheels are more or less high-profile, even a cheap disk back, this is 95 percent of what you can do, so here you need to understand the commensurability of money, your result and what you get in the end then.
Ilya: Fans love us in general, of course, it's all to choose, constantly choose, discuss in chat rooms. No, to sit, train for 800 hours, wind up.
Alexander: This is also such a philosophical topic. Let me remind you now, we will continue this topic further. I didn't finish about the highway. When we have a road race, a group race, I always say, someone rolls out new bikes, Misha, a physical education student, he likes to look at bicycles, lays out technologies. This bike is so-and-so at 5 watts. Just a problem in what? Is it a group bike? we are going to a group race on it and what is the basic principle to understand here, then we are going in a pack, you can just spin 150 watts on a wheel there, a junkie starts quietly and 600 watts 700 watts of your 5 watts began, firstly, it's uphill, it doesn't work like that anymore, secondly, you should have a very powerful legs are the one she is and an even piece and when you, if you sit on the plane and being on the wheel, you save much these 5, even 10 watts, they don't affect so much. ie tactics, your positioning in the pack, how you sat out these powerful pieces, they are much more important and the fact that you are great he rides a little faster there, I emphasize, a group race, this is important only when if you are in an underpool, which you pulled into a junkie and leaves for a straw break, in a pogacher, of course he needs to go in isolation, every watt is more efficient, but for example, Dima Razgulyaev likes to attack and leave solo. If you are an amateur of this level, then there is probably still a role. But in other situations, your task went slotting 800 watts, not to fly off the wheels. That is, you have to give not only these 800 watts, position yourself correctly in the pack, roughly guess at what moment it will start, catch this wheel. And here you will save much more than these insignificant ones. yesterday this video was recorded by Shmana against Shame. There are these refractions of the circuit, the loss of a couple of watts. And people are seriously bothering with it. You have a skewed chain, you have this little star there too small. And, you know, that's why I also bothered, studied all those ceramics there, looked at some numbers. And at a certain point you start to believe in it, and try to improve something in yourself. then you come to a real race and there's some dude on the lubinev highway leaving you as a stand-up, you're like, what's going on? And at this moment, that is, the races are real, so touchdown, do you understand if a good bike is important? important, but not as much as people really think. An example was given by my new teammate Roma Katyrin, a former professional. I went for Itera Katyusha, he had a coach back in his day, then a long time ago I told him this Lyosha Shchebelin, he's like, oh, cool, the world is small, and his Twitter is for 50 thousand, in my opinion, even for 45. And we have a race, I say, Rum, I'm Rum time trial, and I drove, and we're going to the group race, there are sprint finishes, I say, Rum, let's take me to the finish line, I need to earn, such. . . no question, okay, I'm the captain, he's a conditional private there. We drive out of the turn, I'm sitting right on his wheel, and he has a sprint, even though he's not big there, but a good, good sprint, and gives me such a piece that I just fly off the wheel, he's on Twitter, wheels, tires are regular, 50 thousand, I have an airout, 500-550 thousand, 10 times the price difference. than such situations you meet in real life, it lands and makes it clear what is needed, what is not needed, what works, what does not work. We omit the question of aesthetics. When cool is beautiful, that in itself pleases you, you can't take that away.
Ilya: the same Shchiberin on a carbon Chinese bike, the same when he won. The same bullshit, in fact.
Alexander: Yeah, yeah. Moreover, the requirements for Graviki are much higher. There's a sausage shop there, you just have to keep it from falling apart. It's you who are going to Splashdown, Twitter is at its own price, it's clear to everyone that this is not advertising right now, that. I just see it all the time around, everyone is riding on Twitter. Moreover, it even looks like Aeroa from afar. So look, someone is driving up, freaking out on such a. Such a Twitter guy, some kind of stranger. That is, a minimum of some external factors from which it can fall apart. And here, Lyosha is there too, he's not a simple Chinese, there's some kind of good I, in my opinion, even watched this video.
Ilya: more or less, but such, not from expensive Chinese in fact.
Alexander: Therefore, here is a small non-remark, I will make an addition. I used to practice shooting, a master of sports. And we have a 9-mm caliber pistol, exactly the same as in the army, police, and so on. Just a little sporty. And there's also such a topic, how many guns do you have? My gun cost 50 thousand, and that dude cost 190 thousand. And I shoot him better. I am a master of sports, and he is the first discharger. the criterion is ultimately the same it should not give delays delays what is it you shoot there a series of cougars cougars the cartridge case is stuck here, you spend 2-3 seconds to eliminate it there, suppose you can do it on a bike as the attack went, you switch but you didn't switch the first time and you lit up 10 meters there, I'm doing about the same analogy that is, your bike should switch well, change the serviceable brakes, that is, it's the main one there, medallions with medallions if you didn't slow down somewhere in the turn and flew off to even, as Remko unwound the wimp there, flew off the bridge there, what's the point? there is reliability, switching, wheels, so that they are not the most cast-iron, there is more or less rubber to put on, otherwise all this is human muscular strength, how much you push, and I say so many examples already when people are not on shambikes, but such an average, average bike and show very good results in amateur sports.
Ilya: By the way, according to the fresh tracks from the frame or shimana, what you put on the highway and what on the mtb.
Alexander: yes yes yes, I released everything yesterday, I haven't watched the video yet
Ilya: Yes, I've seen the preview, but I haven't seen it yet. I started to look there, the beginning is so cool, scary.
Alexander: Elements of horror. Listen, I'm shooting now, I have a Sony camera. The Nikon camera started, and there are still canonists who are engaged in photography, and there is always a Canon boot, there is an aunt-aunt Sony. it's a fuss, . The main thing is, in total, that is, can you realize yourself on some equipment, suppose I do not know, there was a video telling that on the previous generation on the sram, on the highway. The brakes are worse than on Shimana, and than on the most modern Shame, on E1. And, suppose you are driving some criteria, I don't know, some races where there are a lot of turns, where you need to do a lot of braking, and this question limits you. you're really driving like this, I lost the race because of the brakes, I lost the race because of the brakes. then, probably, it makes sense to look at something else there for Shimana, for example, And so. . . the function is performed by performing, too, there was an example given by pogacher, he rides our anah well vinegora it is clear that there are sponsors of these team shimana sponsors these there shame yes vinegore rides on shame he has a single star in front of him can win can win that is, what is the problem the rest that is, once again the key switch control they switch normally, nothing nothing is happening here. the rest is nuances. although of course they threw me a little bit of hateful comments on shame. I went through the shame of speed myself. but in other words, Vasya is a strong racer. Whatever you don't give him, he'll go to any group normally. the main thing is that she does not refuse during the ride. on mtb I added if the mechanics compare it subjectively I liked the shimana I have both there is a coin it has such a small click and it is tactile that I liked the feeling on the shame there are such deep switching necessary if I have a shame on the electronics now I have a shame on the electronics on the mtbshka the new shimana came out mtbshka I haven't tried it here I can't say
Ilya: So, do you have any serious injuries on your bike?
Alexander: on a bike. The very first fakapnye falls ... Fu-fu-fu. I hope it's clear that cycling involves risks for us. In 2019, somehow not that unsuccessful… We were driving back in Ufa when I lived, I was just starting to ride, and the summer season came, I gained some volumes, started something with some segments to ride. the leg slowly began to come. And a friend in Ufa, I don't know now, he even goes, no, his name is Stas. And we periodically wrote off with someone, we'll go for a ride on it. And as is often the case on co-rides, it's so chaotic, you go, you want to go somewhere, you pulled it on, you wanted to go somewhere, you performed some more. And we still go, still on this avenue Solovat-Yulaev, Ufa is fine. And on the right there . . . six or eight stripes, just such very wide roads under the highway, just perfect. And a metal bump on the right. And I'm going like this, like this, I'll check it out now, Stas is like this, I think. And I turn around and just tell him, Stas, I'm going to stretch it out now. And I return my head back, then the speed is 40 kilometers per hour. And my alignment, it was broken and carried to the right. And there's a bump. And then, and Stas has an action camera. He takes pictures of himself all the time, and I don't know if he has karma or something. he was constantly cut off by someone there, some falls on cars, and he recorded on camera. And then I was reviewing, when I was carried to the right, my hand reflexively, that is, uncontrollably, reached into the bump, lean on it, and how . . . at 40 kilometers per hour. And as soon as I touched this bump, I instantly fall, and Stas rides on the wheel, immediately falls. And it so happened that . . . no one died. there's a continuous stream. Avenue from Alvat-Yulaev. There are a lot of cars there. The most important thing is that there is no one behind. But I drove. I even have it here. I'll show you. This one. such a nice cut on my arm. deep. My nose was sewn up here. the arm was sewn up. It turned out badly. I took the experience for myself. but the main thing is that they are alive and there are no jokes when they were engaged in parachuting, the bones are intact, with him, and the rest is fine. This is from injuries, all sorts of small ones, not counting the first year when you didn't get out at a traffic light, flopped, I don't even count it. At MTB, when there are a lot of falls in the first two years, you go to some section, to a showcase that you don't understand how to go. then you fly through the steering wheel, then you just crash into a tree somewhere. Such working moments are purely counterintuitive. Until you roll them, the volume of these elements, it is so and. Then, when three years have passed, the experience of such situations has become many times less. And here, from such incidents with injuries, it led, even this, probably not much. There, I was falling, I was decomposing a little on the drops. But this moisture. Once I got up like this, so, the bones are in place, nothing happened there. I dusted myself off, this, and drove on.
Ilya: So, let's continue on about you as a fireman and a trainee. How many hours a week do you train? We know you're definitely not 800 hours a year, we've already figured that out. how many hours a week do you train and how much sleep do you get every day?
Alexander: Depending on the time of year, of course, the shuffling is strong when we live in snowy regions, approximately, very approximately. In winter, somewhere it goes from 5 to 8 hours, but now I'm also adding a gym, that is, it can even go up to 10, but I don't consider the gym as a whole to be a cyclic load, for cardio. And in the season, just maybe I went. physically, it is much possible, but I don't digest the machine at all. we are now a month old, there were frosts in Siberia, I usually try to dilute with skis. It is impossible not to ski here, not on MTB. now we have the first day of warming today, and on the weekend it is already near zero practically. I'm getting on the MTB-shku. just for understanding. two hours on the machine – that's all, it's atas, my cuckoo starts to go. At the same time, if I go to MTB, minus 5, minus 10, I easily went somewhere for 3 hours, a long workout to roll back. Therefore, the offseason strongly depends. There's not much in the season. It reached 12-13. Again, it is possible for the body to digest. Just a question that the 5-day working day is from 9 to 18. There is also one question. it turns out to combine, then we'll get to it. and weekends, respectively, are either long, but in the season it is more often a race. That is, if there is a race on Sunday, of course, I don't ride some mega volume on Saturday, so the average weekly volume is kept quite low. And at the moment, I think this is the main reason, there is some kind of stagnation in the figures of 20, 60 by 60 minutes. That is, there is a need to increase in this. there is enough interval, there are already general volumes, this most likely limits. many experts say that when, if there is a stop somewhere, then this is the first thing to look at, if the intervals, everything else is present.
Ilya: And how do you combine work, five days and training in the end?
Alexander: there are several schemes for people here. Let's step aside a little. Especially those who do triathlons. This is a whole problem. that we have the same species. And they have three types. They are also trying to insert the hall. Even now, there are some students who do triathlon. And it's very hard to relate. But, really, the first scheme, even if work starts at 9, for example, we are not Moscow. Moscow region, who goes there two hours before work, of course, it's hard to do overwork there, but in general there is experience, someone there gets up at 5 in the morning, does an hour and a half workout at 6, goes to work, and in the evening just shifts sleep, and when you do it all the time, then, roughly speaking of which, you're at 9 pm, you're still sitting like this, lying down, and passed out, and it turns out a total sleep for the night, normally, you dial adequately. There's a question of how much I sleep. Everything is different for all different people. But, again, scientific recommendations for men 7-8 hours approximately, and for women 8-9. I get somewhere 7-8. It really works. And this is somehow. I usually try not to sit after 10, not to be stupid anywhere. Especially when the day is stressful, you just lie down, if you pass out, I drink. And in the morning. . . even almost always I wake up there at 6, I can wake up at 7, that is, if you yourself woke up and can't sleep anymore, then the body is fine, I looked at the Garmin in addition, there and there in general and in principle 7-8 is enough and in summer, on the contrary, I don't know even less, the tactics of the rooster when the sun goes down early we have at 5 o'clock and I usually already at 6, even at half past five, Although I hang the curtains so that the sun does not pass, but still. . . Peek-a-boo, ! And that's it, I can't go on sleeping. The body turns out to have received what it needs for rest. And plus the sun, the weather conditions are better. This is the winter we have here. The further you move, you feel, the body is depressed, it still accumulates slowly. Therefore, so. 7-8 approximately, plus or minus, but in general practically… I have a hard time, but I never practically wake up to it. there is the organism itself – once, hop. I was just recording a video with Rama against Shimana the other day. I recorded it in the evening, and mounted it for a long time, and until the next day ... I got up at 5 in the morning, I couldn't sleep, and went to work at 9. and sat down to mount the video. I sat and mounted it for 3 hours before work. then I put everything on VKontakte on the fill, went to work.
Ilya: so, gentlemen viewers, you like to put, it's just one button to press and watch, and get up Alexander in the morning, and, 3 hours of awesome vidos, so we looked, we put a like.
Alexander: – this is generally such a ... if you are not a statistical source, not a millionaire… We, dear viewers, have created a separate chat with Ilya's initiative, where there are cycling bloggers on cycling topics. And an interesting discussion, we eventually almost unanimously came to the conclusion that all this is done for the soul, for ourselves. That is, there are so many time, psychological, and material costs, and you get practically nothing from it. And that is, the only motivation is that you get high at the moment or something from the process. Therefore, I am now talking about ordinary ordinary channels, those who have 100, 500 thousand each, we don't have some kind of advertising there, something else like that. So yes.
Ilya: By the way, how long have you been working as a coach? Remotely, not remotely? Are you continuing now? Is it possible to get to you?
Alexander: But if you roll back the full story, then I'm not even a coach, but an instructor's experience. Earlier, as he said, he devoted part of his life to military service. And at the same time I was engaged as a fire training instructor. And he also completed the Masters of Sports in 2011. And he conducted classes for both military and civilian. And once again, what question will I remind you.
Ilya: The question about the coach, how did the sport introduce you, how long ago and is it possible?
Alexander: We are already starting. . . And, that is, since those times I have already conducted classes, there are some seminars, there is something else. That is, well, you can get a crust, a teacher, buy it, take courses there, you have graduated as a coach, but until you gain practice, it will not work fully. That is, working with people, searching for some approaches, techniques, there. But then I was already starting to do cycling. This is where I went in now, again Ilya collects statistics, not statistics, but on coaches. You can go in, read something, choose. And before the coach, how to find him. And where did it start? I wanted to improve the results in. We have separate competitions at work there, there are various bi-events. I download books, you start to understand there, so there are pulse zones, you need a heart rate monitor, and so on. And you start to delve into it all. That is, after I studied, I began to prepare myself. Yeah, there is some kind of result, of course. Then after some time Sanya comes up, listen, can you tell me something there? So, come on. This is such an initial stage, I understand, so people are interested, there is a demand, but this, you know, we are talking now about... I don't know, 2015, something like that, it's very far away. This is now the last five-year plan, this coaching topic has developed very much, this has not happened before. There are some self-taught people there, and coaches who train something there at the stadium, there are very few of these remote people. Here. And according to the cycle, somewhere for the first time I arrived in Novosibirsk, several guys wrote to me, listen, come on, maybe you can train me? I'm like, somehow I didn't even think about it. One asked, the second asked, the third is probably a sign, it's time to try. And about 4 years ago it started, and the guys started applying. And three years ago we had a local school I love supersport, this is a common division where there are different directions of a-lef running, skin, skiing, swimming, there is also Nordic walking. And there, if separate, the direction was not somehow undeveloped. But there is a triathlon. And they invited me there first as a bike coach. And then I started myself, I originally came from. And plus, I performed in the doathlon, according to the CMC, to be honest, I was repeatedly performed there. I went to LTA here, won competitions there. These are not the easiest. and I started trying there. and then now I have already retrained in cycling. as Tolya Sulodov said, it's a little easier for cycling in this regard. we have power, there is a heart rate there, remotely remotely, it's hard, it's still hard when you don't see a person visually, as far as he says, maybe I can feel good, but in fact he suffers these unfortunate 2 watts there, I have my first experience with my first coach there. He is also with an Iteration of Katusha, a master of sports. The 19th year. I just got on the bike. He gives me 4 for 15 minutes at 280 watts. I'm heavier then. I'm these... get to 280 watts, a couple of watts… After 15 minutes… And I'm looking at this now, I think, your mother. What am I talking about? When the coach doesn't see you remotely, it's hard. And he looks like this, he has fulfilled it. Completed. Come on, let's make it heavier. Now, there are indicators, now moreover, I started to lead in the interval with the guys too, there used to be another platform there, where someone has modern gadgets, both variability and sleep are loaded, in short. That is, before it was just a pulse, I read the comments, how the load went to the person. Now you can still watch. some kind of health markers. It is clear that these are not objective indicators, we need to look at them in a complex. But a little simpler. What am I going to introduce this to? It's also fine if he's on the track for an even distance. You can measure the pace, for example, of a skier or a trail runner. It's a little more difficult to train in this regard, because they have all this varies. Today I say I'm going to a ski race. My skis were prepared for me, but snow fell on us, and the consistency of the snow is very difficult. It's frozen under the eaves, we have frosts, fresh fell from above, skis were riding. I got stuck there, I'm coming, guys, tomorrow I have my second race there, ski. I say, guys, we didn't ride very well, but I myself am not a skier, and they explain this complex scheme to me, and accordingly it is more difficult to train these people. in cycling in this regard, it is in terms of parameters, a little bit simpler.
Ilya: yes, I also advise everyone in general to have an interval with his PR, as I can, I suggest. By the way, another physical education student, Misha Gavrilov, also makes such a subjective application, you check in there in the morning, and she makes some kind of graphics there. Also generally subjective, very important. But in general, by the way, there is some kind of cognitive distortion in those who are engaged, as you say, you know, like. . . not to let the coach know that it's hard for you. for some reason, people like to fight like that, and everything is fine there, it's fine. It's good that there are heart rate monitors and stuff.
Alexander: I say it myself, and I train, and I have several coaches, and you seem to understand that in the whole cycle there is always the principle "it's better not to get a little bit than to overdo it." This is a Soviet technique for us, you plowed to the maximum, but a sample of 10 thousand people, figuratively, five of them remained. Awesome! These are people who survived, did not die, and they went up there. partially, this train is now moving I have adult guys there are 40-45 50 plus there is an age somewhere and sometimes yes, it feels like you're not tired, as you're not tired, you're not crawling out of the machine, so time has gone to waste, and unfortunately, even when I'm training as a coach, you turn on this mode of a good student, you need to do it at any cost There is I will die, but I will do it, but it's not quite right. Again, guys, when I lead my own, I write several parameters. Initially, if these are intervals, then you look at the target power, but immediately, if it is, for example, the 4th, there, sweet spot, for example, sweet spot is below the threshold. And by definition, there went the second interval, the third. You don't... the pulse can't accelerate above the threshold. These are mutually exclusive things. And, that is, you look, crawled up... it should come out on a small raft, like a step and continue. If he went to the threshold, that's it, on this day, my friend, your FTP is not like that, there may be a lot of factors there. I took something, didn't get enough sleep, had a fight with the boss, on an emotional background, this can also happen. Therefore, yes, it is necessary to look at the complex. And the main thing is, there is such a thing, by the way, I looked at someone, in my opinion, for 40 years on a bicycle, or something. And, by the way, Roma Katyrin, my lover, said the same thing. You go to training, it's a European concept there, Italy, Spain, there is some kind of task. You start doing something, you get stuck with something, turned around, went home, went the next day, left. That is, in the sense of looking at their well–being, and the body is such a complicated thing. We can plan everything for cotton wool, periodization, but, a living organism, it's not just everything.
Ilya: And from your moment we are talking about the training process. There's another question from subscribers. What training principle gave the most? Do you think it is possible to answer this too?
Alexander: There are a lot of principles. By the way, I have a video about three years ago. That's what it was called. Training principles in cycling. Also, when I read these questions, I thought, probably, probably, the main one said it was still cyclical in the load and rest. That is, we cannot grow up if we do not give a little rest to the body to rebuild. Because what you need to understand when we don't know, we went to the gym, something else. You destroyed your muscles, destroyed, not strengthened, destroyed. They need time to rebuild a little bit, to become a little stronger. And often people fall into this way of tiring themselves. You work, work, work to get tougher, tougher, tougher, and you don't give yourself a break. And there are some reserves, and there are small improvements. but you're running into such a step again, you can't go any higher. Therefore, in the cycle it is extremely important. Load, recovery, load, recovery. For strong messengers, it can be that there are two loading days, three loading days, but there is still a recovery later. I sometimes look at some plans for professionals, but again, in Europe, they have been training in a completely different way for a long time. We have a triathlon team there, for example, the Russian Federation, they have a five-day Cycle there. This is a seven-day one because of the working week. They have such a five-day one. But one day there is always a rest. They have a third training session a day in different sports, but there is rest. And between these four days they vary. If there is a percussive here, then there can be no percussive lead here. Here shock led, here shock swimming. and so on. Yes, there is, this periodization is micro, it is. And therefore you need to understand yourself and give something to the body. and at the same time, the date should work on the main training session. Therefore, I am answering this question. This is proper rest and recovery. The primary is sleep. I have some guys who are very tight on time. They say I can do it for an hour or ten. But it's so small. That is, here it is necessary to understand that you have to have time to do a workout, during this time it is quite difficult. Therefore, between going to bed, some people come, then they write me a report, I did a workout late, then I didn't sleep well. If you finished training at one o'clock in the morning, now I don't know the specific numbers, they are so pathetic, and in the morning you get up at 6 in the morning, I didn't do such a workout. Meaning. That is, the time when your body has to re-adapt, the night, it's stressful. And I'm not sure that it's possible to progress adequately here. So again I delayed the answer in my own way. cyclicity, load, rest and recovery. Here, sleep, nutrition, and stress are common. Stress is hard, of course, to exclude. And all these factors.
Ilya: So, you were talking about sport shooting, about parachuting, and what did you do as a child? What kind of sports did you have as a child?
Alexander: I didn't do anything professionally, I lived in a village, an urban village, a small military town, and there wasn't much there, but somehow since junior high, all the time I was trying to fight, and we had a karate section, I went to karate there for a while, but it's just a section, and I loved football very much Even I don't remember how it started, but we play yard football, but it's almost every day in winter and summer. I analyzed it later. As I said, in the first year I took 20 minutes, 320 or 340, 2-2 cool. I think, how is this even possible? Then I analyze it. I used to play football as a kid, I probably pawned it. In winter it's a fan. I have an older brother and sister. For them, I skied senior skis. We just went out, we were entertained, lived on sobka, on sobka, and drove down on skis. like skiing, but only on regular skis. You go up on foot. And in winter there is some activity on skis, football, this is during school days. Then I went to the institute, when I entered the military school, and in the morning it's a standard charge. That is, you run in, somewhere. then, I also started going to hand-to-hand combat at older classes. And that's where this primary conscious began. More precisely, how, in the evening I go out like this, I'm going to run for 40 minutes. Since it's a day off, I'll go. There were no heart rate monitors at all then. This is the 2000s. I even cut off the time. Just ran off somewhere in the field, an hour in one direction, an hour in the other direction. And so it is. And then, after the institute, the conscious one went. This is just when I started like this. How to improve the result? Started forums, like everything before. There is something like that in the video right now. Previously, these forums were different. You come in that someone is writing. Do 200 meters there, accelerate, then 400 meters accelerate, then 800 meters accelerate. this is sitting, reading, what to do? I bought my first heart rate monitor, it's 11 years old in my opinion. the books are good, in one of the videos I talked about books, I can repeat myself if someone dig in a cycle. It's a strange name for serious runners on the highway, but this is a translation from the American, it's very clear that at that time I was swallowing these books, I don't know how not to myself, I was reading Seuyanova there, I was reading something else there. What is this man talking about anyway? God rest his soul now. What is he even talking about? current, practicing trainers books, where everything is clear. These zones by pulse, typical intervals of which pano. I read all this then. developed in there. and this is from the cycle. And further it is already necessary there, it is not necessary to develop further what else I was doing there.
Ilya: So, yes, it seems just there is the next question why didn't sports shooting remain.
Alexander: I started shooting somewhere, got carried away too somewhere in the early fifties. At first, the classic one, it's like this, you stand at 25 meters, you collect the accuracy. Then practical shooting. Who has never seen it, it's hard for me to imagine what it is. Practical shooting is fundamentally different from everything else. There's an imitation of the premises, various shelters, where you are. I reloaded, there are some swinging, moving targets. It's a very difficult sport. I got involved in this sport, started practicing. And also, that there is a young one there, so far he has just left the institute, the energy is still single. The only thing is that it's expensive. You bought us a bike, a couple of chains, roughly speaking, it's secured for the season. And there are cartridges, you shoot constantly, you need to buy them, it's expensive. And I started to get carried away, then I started to instruct, I studied for a master of sports, completed instructor courses, passed. the topic was swallowed up, and I thought, this is the rest of my life. But, unfortunately, this is also probably psychology, the psyche. After 5-6 years, I probably realized that I turned into a routine. And, you know, I have a standard scheme. There are two launches a year for major competitions. This is the Russian championship and one of the stages of the Russian Cup. We used to call it a third-level competition. The first is strawberries, the second is the championship of the republic, Riba region, the third is the championship of Russia, the fourth is Europe, the fifth is the world. I did not go to Europe for the world. And that's it, you prepare, analyze some exercises, build your own workouts and go out. And then at one point – click. I'm like, I'm tired of something, it's all the same, and I started to burn out. And he left for a couple of years, then returned for something, and continued his instructor activity. there is, just the same, I have been constantly engaged in this activity for the last 15 years. And then in the Shooting, just the same, in Novosibirsk, when I had already started to move, it was in the 20th year, just this time was covid, everything was closed, and the shooting galleries, they were just sealed, they didn't work. And you have to understand, shooting ranges with firearms, it's not to take it there, to shoot some kind of toy water pistol, it's a serious weapon, there's a review and licensing system, and everything is very tough. Here. And I moved here while something was running out here, and just this one. . . on YouTube, I started to wind up, shoot something, go racing, and it so happened that the bike replaced the shooting completely. therefore, I replaced one view with another. although now I also shoot periodically, I sometimes conduct classes.
Ilya: I've only reached my first youth cigarette shooting in my life, so the next question is do you have any bad habits?
Alexander: In his youth, he smoked for about five years, sharply. I graduated from the faculty building in the early 2000s. The fact that they went in uniform. smoking on graduation day. It's hard there. In times like this, a fight and some other. Hard times at the time. And since then I don't smoke at all. there's booze, it's standard something. And then the period in life is, but what if you don't drink at all? And for 10 years, than for 10 years, I didn't use at all. Just on principle. At first, I'm like, oh, on the side, I'm shooting something back and forth. Parachuting has just begun. And then hop, and drink? Why? What does it give? I don't understand. and now you can say that I am already an adult uncle, and already here, on Vasiba, just, with my wife, sometimes I poured something 100 grams in the evening, and that's it, basically at home, that is, without digesting all these gatherings, drunk, I've seen so many of them, when you come sober to any event, corporate parties, something else like that. First there, then through the eighth toast there begins. . . And what about you? These drunken conversations are sluggish. Now I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings who likes to drink. Now no, I'm just saying, my wife and I sometimes get a little bit at home, we sit, waste, just laugh cleanly. And that's it. And the rest, I do not know, because of bad habits, whatever else, we do not use drugs all that.
Ilya: Maybe you cut your nails or eat boogers?
Alexander: When. . . you can try, I don't know, you might like it.
Ilya: maybe some kind of increase. And what, by the way, do you use from the sportpit and from?
Alexander: Such a sparpit in general, of all the unknown topics that can be disassembled, this is probably the most unknown topic. Occasionally, even when I used to try these animal packs in UFA, something like that, these giant packages, everyone knows these people who drink all the time. Purely for show, I didn't feel anything from them there. Now you get older and realize that the older you get, it's like a car. While she is new for the first 5 years, if a new one can be scored at all, she will skate. Then, if not serviced, it slowly falls apart. And now you're starting to think about it too. I'll let you down now. There is so much talk on this topic, and people are starting to buy how not to force themselves. And here the opinion is so much different. Students are also sometimes asked.
Ilya: Probably not.
Alexander: I don't know, right? Dima Mityaev is our top Russian trail runner, one of the top 3 in the world. He doesn't even compete in Russian competitions anymore, because there is no competition here, he is racing there somewhere around the world. 50% of its preparation uses a bike race. He is muscular, 80 kilograms, 82. Ftp is something 450, and this is a real ftp. and they also write podcasts, they have their own channel on YouTube. Some of them are videos about food. And they share that they use, I do not know how much to believe, exclusively ordinary food, but their diet is clearly right, so that all the minerals, vitamins, trace elements come from food, and from their words, as they have nothing at all. That's what I mean. That there are such concepts. And there are other concepts when people get laid. And I am of the opinion that in a good way you need to take tests and check what you are missing. Kolya, remember, Zemlyanoi also told me that there is a shortage of iron there – this is a tough topic in terms of the fact that iron is very important for building blood, red blood cells and all that. That is, if you have a shortage, it is obvious that you need to fill in some ways. to answer the question. Taking into account the fact that it is known for certain that we lack vitamin D in winter, that people, as a rule, lack omega. such things I have now begun to accept. And a little magnesium, and probably that's all. Sometimes, for a tick, a complex of vitamins, and from a pharmacy. In general, I periodically publish blood tests. there, and and you look. that is, if everything is fine in general, you can take something on a separate one, for example, is this a competent approach than just "what, iron? " Such " conducts, oxygen? Let me buy it." And the fact that excess iron can give some side effects, for example, that is, a person may not even think. Therefore, I am not an expert in this matter. Some people will start to wander, look around. I also get this question on YouTube, sometimes I'll look at it, and there are people, even some doctors, and let's go. You need it because our life lacks it, it's me who's like... what, should you put something on these? And the question is what? When you ride 5-6 hours a week, then you shouldn't bother so much if you... now I'm going to puncture again, I remember. when you go out to high volumes and the price of some error to sort out is high enough, then you need to consider everything in a complex. rest, sleep, daily routine, nutrition, including some vitamin complexes, if there are real deficiencies, and so on. again, how many are there, 7 minutes have already been told, an answerable question. at a minimum, I have this And that, I don't know, more for show. once again I will emphasize, that is, for the sake of such interest, let me go and take a vitamin D test, it's not a cheap test, I'm taking it, somewhere slightly below average, but still normal. I think, okay, winter, a little under drunk. But this one is like with aeronestics, you have to pick up everything, where the word aero is written, I don't know. And remember, it's not that the main thing, it's not a recommendation, it's again such reflections. There are people who don't use anything at all, of course, they don't do sports, they eat sausage, hamburgers, they are fat somewhere, but no one has died yet. there is, I don't know, some kind of sound mind here should be in the complex. And what can be said for sure is that, again, I adhere to this concept, the first thing is to build a normal diet. Normal nutrition. that is, where to grab and then think something further if you eat everything got there, I don't know there used to be such a duty in military service, there are still some such trips and you've got enough of these pasties there, you put pills in without putting them in, you need to figure it out normally first, so
Ilya: how it relates to aerogrill.
Alexander: What is it
Ilya: Don't you know what it is? This is bullshit in order to cook food. I was just thinking, what else is Aero? Socks, Aero helmet, Aero grill, in short.
Alexander: Not encountered
Ilya: And what exactly do you not advise beginners?
Alexander: Yes, it's also a good question, I looked. The first, probably, is to try to copy strong comrades. us, now I'm going to leave the side again, yes. When I was a kid, when I was playing football, a lot of people were chasing them there in the 90s, there, I remember, there, Roberto Carlos, there, Ronaldo, there, Zidane. Guys, we have how you look at it, the kid himself is still watching what they are doing there, feints, trying to repeat. And so people are arranged that we tend to look at people. I saw him, he's on his way. 4 hours per 300 watt workout. I have to repeat, maybe I'll go as a pogacher. And therein lies a global error. There is no need to copy other people, how many years this person has been going to his level. And we must understand that it should line up smoothly and generally fit. And secondly, what we discussed earlier is to give the body somewhere to rest, to reboot. really underestimate. I have periods in my life when I trained every day. Generally prodyha. Somewhere light, somewhere else something. Usually Monday is full of rest. But I still go out like this. There is time at work. I have a gym there. I'll run. I ran for an hour. But I noticed when I was busy at work, for some other family matters. and I just didn't have time to do the workout. I go out the next day, or the next interval, and I'm like, the central nervous system is really rebooting, you, starting on yourself, at least, it's better, more efficient to do it. That is due to the fact that you have removed this sport activity altogether. speech when you train there 6 times a week, that is, 7 times a week. Sometimes periods – I trained twice a day, left in the morning before work and stopped training in the evening. And sometimes... removed training, it reboots the brain. Our power is tied to nerve impulses. Our level of training you a lot. Therefore, the head should also be given a rest. Moderation should be in exercise. And do not overdo it. Everything needs to move smoothly in its own time. And have fun. Burned out people in triathlon, especially they have a difficult one. to pass a half or an iron. immediately a person goes out under 10 hours a week, and if he got up from the couch. He goes out once, it almost doesn't work out, he shat himself at the race, because he couldn't help but take out the food and quit. Then you go to avito, I sell a cutting bike, I tried half an ironman, it didn't go in. A man burned down just like a match, for a season. myself. And that's it.
Ilya: So, the next question is about your video. How much time does it take to shoot and edit? So, we already know that you spent three hours in the morning recently on shame and shimana. Here. But I'll say for myself that I started following your YouTube channel a couple of years ago, of course, I was scared of your productivity. I think he doesn't have a job, he just has videos coming out there all the time, I can't imagine where you got so much time from.
Alexander: Listen, two years ago, not the 25th, but the 24th, when the year was ending, I think let me get on YouTube and see. I counted either 80 or 85 videos, and I'm like, whatever, it can't be, I even counted it. 85 is like that, and I just remember Nikita Mask, he's like that, whether he has 20, or something like that, and I'm like this, I mean, every third, fourth day, or maybe a video, and . . . Here it is necessary to understand that there is a video that is very mounted. I do not know to do a review on. I put the camera on, connected the microphone, took it off and mounted it in 40 minutes and filled it right away. And the video is flooded for 5 minutes. That is, a saddle, a dropper, for example, is really very. Roughly speaking, I came to work. If there is no training, then . . . a fasting day, something like that, I sat down and, roughly speaking, threw it right on my knees. If Shimana is against Shame, yes, I filmed there, for example, it's not even about editing, first of all, I've already thrown out my cheat sheet, I'm sitting there at work, or already at home, I'm starting to type. So, what do we have there? The water part, the history of how this Shame system developed, what generations are there, D1, E1, there are gravel groups and so on. Then there are the main concepts of the differences there from the shimana, then there are the minuses in the end, there is a conclusion, and that is, while you are at the stage of making up this plan, you are still rearranging something, adding something, and even it already takes a lot of time, that is, I consider all these videos to be the most difficult because you need to collect information sometimes it's wrong somewhere there, there's some kind of numbers there, the stuffy one made a mistake, immediately runs up in the comments there, and you said the wrong thing and it's hard. then the video itself. I came, I have two lights here. There's a softbox here, there's something else. I'm sitting arranging the lights, turning on the camera. I turned on the camera, I look at how the light falls, I put the composition there. not highlighted, over-highlighted. I connected the microphone, made a test frame, whether the sound and picture are passing, took out the flash drive, inserted it into the computer, looked at how it looks, because when there is no operator, you can do something wrong to set the brightness, sound and mess up the whole video. We haven't even reached the video yet, it's a stage of preparation. Then you turn on the video, you start it poke-mek-pack, stutter at the camera, then something is called a torn montage, something cuts it, there's something else. I took it off, okay. The final video was released there for 50 minutes. for example, with ram versus Shimana. You chatted for 50 minutes on video. Next is the installation stage. That is, you review these 50 minutes, cut it, trim it. Here I've been stupefied, rearranged in places. I also spent two hours there. in different ways, actually. You see, when I started shooting and parachuting, it was back in the early fifties, all the love of shooting went from there. I fucked up the camera when I jumped out of the trash with a parshute at all competitions, at all jumps, and then mounted it to the music. And I threw up my hand then, I'm mounting it on a MacBook now, I don't even use a mouse, just a touchpad, keys, all this is happening enough. That's it, it's a montage. And then the installation did not end, the conclusion. now in VKontakte yesterday it was loaded in one fell swoop. there's a video of me I don't remember how many gigabytes came out, but it's decent. It loaded in about 20 minutes, and I turned on youtube, youtube even with a vpn, it loads for hours and I need to control it directly, the laptop didn't go to sleep, something else like that. And all this can be put into the common piggy bank of the total time. That is, it's about such videos. The video becomes much more complicated. Sometimes the audience, who the guys are watching me, and they tell me about it, videos about the preparation, sometimes insert photos. This is a gravel race for us, and I insert my cards. And straight heavy. there is a need to find these photos, there is a download, spend time, the best angle, insert it clearly according to the timing. And then, when I start to mount, sometimes it feels like everything has moved out, . It's just out of sync happened from these pictures. Such. You start over, you run this video in the montage first, you watch it so that nothing goes wrong. You're sitting there, but Holy shit. That is, this part, it's not so difficult to mount a talking head. And these additional inserts, some reference data, I ran through the captions from below, yes, something else like that. It takes a decent amount of time. And the most difficult thing. The most difficult thing is the race. Video review of the race with telemetry. We will stop separately, since we have invited you to tell us how it happens. I don't even count that your camera should be checked, charged. Normal people got a starting number before the race, checked their meals. I cut someone off in the queue, picked up the number, got into the car, grabbed the camera. I set up the camera, I need to check how it turns on, the angle of inclination, if it's here somewhere, so that all this works, so that I just don't mess up this shooting. Then for a long time I suffered with the camera, in one take, Dima, walking him around too, the problem is that, he said once, it's hard when you took a piece of the race there, took a piece of the race there, took a piece of the race there, and it's almost impossible to impose telemetry. now it's just information for the audience how telemetry is done there. Speed, altitude, we did not when I jumped with a parachute, we took out the altitude there. Speed, power, cadence is not important there. There must be an anchor point, GPS positioning and this is a file. That is, I drove the race, downloaded it, and this fit file, and there is a video. And to synchronize, you need to set a point, take the start of the race and video. The problem is that you have to pick up, synchronize to get started. this, this can take 10 minutes to synchronize a piece of video. And imagine that Dima is driving, once pressed, turned off, once pressed, turned off. He has 10 pieces there. And with each of these fragments to mess around, it's hard. All telemetry can go. Here. And I found a camera, now I have a DJI 5, which is in the worst resolution. under 4 o'clock removes. there is almost any race you can take off. And it makes life a little easier. that is, then how this process happens. I pressed the button, that's it, the race is being filmed. During the race, Dima is there again, others are there, Nikita is there, the Mask manages to wipe the camera. I forget about her. There, especially when you are driving somewhere in the forest, you got a little distracted. you can really lie down, then you'll drive into someone's wheel, then something else. therefore, you just turned it on and then turned it off when the race was over, the whole race was over, then you upload this file earlier, I do not know why there are even some 1080 resolution there, it's full hd the simplest files turned out to be some kind of inadequately gigantic, that is, I need to first assemble them into a bunch of a common video to mount it two hours of several pieces and then just put telemetry on it. Here, according to the telemetry overlay scheme, there are different programs there, just DIMA again, for example, is used on Windows Dash War or something called that. I don't have Windows, I have a Macbook. I am using Garmin Edit Wirb, a program. And that is, you throw this video in there, then synchronized it, output it. maybe 30 minutes, for example, is enough again. I received a video with telemetry, the final video. There's a 3 hour race, for example. Next you need to record the sound, comments. Again, the schemes here may be different, but how do I make it easier? I'm sitting like this in front of my laptop, I'll do a screen capture. Again, I know that foreign ones do it a little differently there, but I've tried different ones, it's easier for me. That's it, I press play. there is an event going on, I comment on it, my voice is recorded. Nothing happens, I rewind further and so on until the whole video has passed. That is, imagine, the video is three hours long, I need it from start to finish, somewhere I comment, somewhere I miss, somewhere I comment, somewhere I miss, three hours are over. I got the final draft video for an hour and a half, an hour and a half, such a piece, in short. I'm throwing it into the editing room again, and now I'm starting to cut out these gaps, poke-myk, these stutters. I have a servelat cut. then you put it together shorter. an hour and a half of roughing, it became an hour for example. Yeah, okay, fine. then, for example, insert music somewhere there. Music is not that difficult. when, if I'm not exhausted yet, I try to insert a small trailer at the very beginning of the video, a little teaser, if there are any interesting shots. Someone plopped down there, someone I don't know, something else happened there, sent someone. Laston, something, there, this, double matyugalnik, yes, when this one, too, when you and Dima were recording. What is the point? There are so many people now, Dima is watching me there, someone else is watching some guys, but the video has become ten times, maybe twenty times someone is recording something from the races, there are a lot of them.
Ilya: Yes, yes, yes.
Alexander: usually, how does this happen in humans? Oh, some recommendation on YouTube came up. You click, there is engagement time, viewer retention, and if there are not some interesting shots, when someone plopped down somewhere, drove in somewhere, usually looked at something, and the person just turned it off. And therefore it is advisable to make such a little slicing at the beginning, this is attracting the viewer, that aha, in this race such and such events, for example. Here. on this little teaser, maybe there's still an hour and a half to go there when you took these cuts there, you synchronized the music there, put it there, that is, and I keep on about removing mounting the race, I glued everything together, you click to render, the rendering is displayed again, I have a good mac on the chip for about an hour, even if a couple of hours of a couple of hours of a couple of hours of a couple of hours of a couple of hours of a couple of hours of a couple of hours of a couple of hours of a couple of hours of a couple of hours of a couple of hours of a couple of hours of a couple of hours of a couple of hours of a couple of hours of a couple of hours of a couple of hours of a couple of hours not an hour and a half. for an hour it mounts and outputs. Dima said that he leaves for the night and leaves. This is ottas. So time consuming. It's a horror. If some kind of error comes out, it's a cap. To take a review of the race, with comments, cutting out the words parasites, if from morning to evening it's roughly speaking a couple of working days right from the beginning to the end until the evening, so this year I do not know whether I'm lazy and whether I'm really tired of these races, I still have not all the reports on I did it because they eat up time terribly, so either you take a day off or get up in the morning before work, yes, that is, no, put something on your smartphone, sit, start editing in the morning before work. Here. That's why I did this. And then another. . . Okay, so I'll say, someone farts in the comments when you tried there, something, something racing. And here it is necessary not to do so. You made a mistake tactically here, you have to do that here. Just sitting there, like that. . . . this . . . is a hard, unsightly, ordinary life led.
Ilya: The question here is not from me, of course. People ask, is the bike already blocking the work for hire?
Alexander: There is no overlap here, again, what to mean by bicycle income there, if this is coaching activity, this is one thing, if it's some kind of machine there, I sent it to the machine there, now I'll open the cards, this machine is left by esimbi, but is it possible to feed the family by selling the indoor trainer for 30 thousand, I do not know, that is, I get this money then back the bike I let it go And purely in theory, if the channel is 100 thousand plus, and the coverage of the general audience is higher, then sponsors can really already catch up, offer something. And so here it happens sporadically, and you don't have to count on it at all. Someone suggested something – well, . But because of this, in general, I don't consider commerce in any way, because here, by the way, in my chat, in the cart, they started there, not to make claims, but to say that some are already a little bit with commerce, they go overboard. And there's such a fine line here, we do, we enlighten, yes, that's all, and at a certain point you can turn into a salesman, I mean a salesman when there are services, goods, something else, and . . . I don't want it all. I want the theme to lead the race, and this will continue. The topic of training is separate. Again, it is difficult to say who has how much money there is, who evaluates himself, and so on. And again, someone is there, tomorrow he said, uh, I'm tired of cycling, he left, everything is very hard here, unlike . . . Now I have a job, yes, I know, the 15th of the month, that's it, the salary came. I don't bother, but here it turns out that way. In general, everything is real, if and only if I was doing this, as it seems to me, it is possible, and without going overboard from the point of view of commerce, there is just to expand the videos, some news, make videos of what happened there in the world, go straight to some stores, for example. trial sport tried to get to me there somehow. In general, it is very liquid here in Russia, unlike abroad, you can take the G7 there, it's clear they have a million audience there, but what's the point? You can cook, if you only do this, and so that it's normal for the audience not to push some kind of thing to them, but to tell them, enlighten some and at the same time cooperate with some. But when there is a main job. . . still a family, business, some kind of does not work out, it will not work out to break up. And so, really, but this, there is technoblogging, you look at smartphones, smartphones, there's even photographic equipment, photographic equipment, probably not that, they have there, when hundreds of thousands and so on, we had such a small one, of all the bike bloggers, I wanted, by the way, to somehow make a video, top bike bloggers on YouTube are Russian-speaking. Previously, there was a graph on YouTube that your viewers were watching. Now for some reason she is missing, I can't find her. And there's a top to see. And in general, these are our people, such a highly specialized segment, there, there are 11 thousand of me on YouTube, yes, roughly speaking, but this is not enough. Someone has dozens there. We have Lech Pskov, he has hundreds there. Do you know Lech Pskov?
Ilya: I know the channel for sure, yes, and his friends even repaired something there.
Alexander: Yes, Yes, there are hundreds of thousands. That is, on such a large scale, you can probably say, so, all this is still for the soul and still like it. That is, as one cyclist said, as soon as I stop liking it, I will retire from the sport. Here is about the same situation. While for the soul it brings pleasure. Here. Again I went to the side, right? okay.
Ilya: And it's even better for us than timing
Alexander: That's right, straight.
Ilya: By the way, how does the family react to the amount of time spent on cycling as a sport, and on your bike blog?
Alexander: Neutral, And not for, and not against. The most important thing, as it seems to me, is that we are all adults, we have wives, children, and so on, so that harmony. In the sense that you can't ride a bike every day. So, I came, dear, I'm sorry, I went to practice. There on the weekend, oh, sorry, I have a long one today. That is, you need to take the time to solve your issues. do not offend, women need some attention. My wife, she probably speaks ugly behind her back. In general, it is neutral and never nags me. The most basic thing that needs to be understood here for women is that a man is not in garages, does not do any illegal business, this is a sport anyway. And the second thing. in my opinion, the father, as a husband, so that the family does not starve. If everything is in abundance, the minimum needs are closed, you also vary the sport, adjust it to the life, to the family schedule, then everything should be fine. If, of course, family members start reproaching, it seems to me it's hard to do something, to win, so that it doesn't come to this. What do you choose, family or bike? Of course, a bicycle, !
Ilya: So, okay, I didn't ask the questions here, I didn't ask, but you should ask them to me, so I'll ask. When are you planning to start in Moscow?
Alexander: Moscow never. I answer that the first major snag is logistical. That is, in general, for understanding, again, they ask me texts, I will answer two words there, which is difficult. Earlier, when I was shooting, for understanding, it was in Ufa, when I lived, we went to Tolyatti, Vikaterenburg, that is, in general, this is not a problem, even considering that we are armed. there are certain moments with the export. having a trip to another city is generally not a problem. What are the factors here? The first is remoteness, that is, where Novosibirsk is, where Moscow is. And starts by themselves. As I said, we have a busy schedule. That year I keep statistics on what I go, what I don't go. I drove taking into account that I have a job, a five-day stay, a family. I counted 19 races in my opinion, almost 20. This is not a record, of course, but it's almost everyone, or through the weekend you can say that the race. And the point is, people are different. Someone needs the status of the race, who is engaged in triathlon, for example, there I want, ironman, barcelona, there is kona, for example, the status of the race is important to them, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, it's normal. My approach is probably strange for the audience. I just love to drive. you come, even if there are 20 people there, but there are several choppers there, you start chopping with them, and it's fun. Really, that is, at the moment you get high from the race. And these ambitions, yes, we are not professional athletes, they don't pay a salary for it, that you will go there. That's all I'm getting at. If there is some kind of sporting interest, for example, I used to guess, but the main reason for the difficulty is that I can leave, fly somewhere only on my vacation. The vacation is planned for a year in advance, in December. That is, it needs to be directly adjusted, just clearly for some kind of event. I heard even in Moscow that the races have been canceled in recent years.
Ilya: This year, cancellations, by the way, in connection with all sorts of, in my opinion, drones and other things. Several races were canceled.
Alexander: anti-drone event. You can plan something, and at the very end it was canceled, the strategy is summed up when the exit to the peak for one or two, and then op, and goodbye. And here, over the years, I have realized here what it is convenient to live in Novosibirsk. We have Tomsk around us, there is Kemerovo, in a radius of about 250 kilometers. Racing is gaining decently. I threw the bike into the car, three hours and you're at the starting point. Even alone during the day. if, for example, the race is at lunch, you left in the morning, you arrive, you start, you drove back. That is, if the race is canceled, no problem. And all this is convenient, a minimum of costs, and therefore there are local starts, why complicate your life. In the question. In shooting, what I was talking about, for example, the Russian Championship is held there, once in Moscow, once in Joburg, it's more convenient for me in Joburg. If there is some kind of start that I considered fundamental for myself, for example, I am not a prize-winner for the Russian championship, but I went into the top 10, and it is a matter of principle for me to show up for the Russian championship, there are no such amateurs, not amateurs, there is one quorum, one crowd. all I wanted was to get into the top 10, then of course, at any cost, you are looking for ways to raise funds, money, airplanes, and you arrive there because the situation is not being held differently now, there is no such situation here, by the way, fans have started holding the Russian Championship under the auspices of the Ministry of Sports, too, they are the Russian Championship, and in principle they have always been held now just under the auspices of in the Ministry of Sports, but before the ambition to come, to get sick, and now the rhythm of life is such that it's hard to plan. it's just physically hard to do. That's why I don't get to Moscow. If I lived in the region somewhere, then, of course, I only drove them. The question is so obvious. I know a couple of Siberian people from our whole crowd who sometimes fly to Sochi, we were flown to St. Petersburg. to Moscow, too. But this is an isolated case when people have motives, relatives, friends and something else like that. so about the layout is this.
Ilya: so that you eventually changed amateur cycling.
Alexander: Our cycling is paradoxical in general. You look, ski racing. We have great skiers and are currently active. No. Swimmers, there are swimmers, great. Cyclists. Sometimes units are a giant country. There are problems in the overall organization. About professional sports, about amateur, what he says. we talked about the bike track. How many do we have in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Omsk? I heard Tula, what's there, or something like that. Yes, you don't know?
Ilya: Yes, in Tula it has now become indoor, but the walls, just the roof was made. but there's a pretty old track, yes.
Alexander: look, it's a huge country, we have 90 regions there, and it's clear that it can't be in every region, but there's so little track, in principle. As it seems to me, that is, in general, let's take a little break on another topic, have you noticed when, again, over the last 10-15 years, a good trend in cities has been, how to say, small towns on the street, where horizontal bars, these gyms are right on the street. And the people are coming, there are open sports grounds, football, people come and start playing. And often the question is that infrastructure is needed, people could. . . availability, you went out and started studying. As much as possible. . . here in Novosibirsk it's a kick-ass, . in road cycling, all training sessions, as you know, are held on the track, just outside the city, in cases. we are leaving a two-lane such a narrow two-lane truck is a federal there trucks are flying and you are forced to go there, but the problem is not that in my opinion two years ago, whether in Samara or somewhere else, they were knocked down twice by school children driving from cars and escorting them down, I do not know who fell asleep there on KAMAZ or else but the infrastructure, that is, where you can practice, is a problem with this. And to build, you will not build, some objects. as I see it about the track, what we talked about, it's expensive, of course, but when it's a sports facility, closed, where there is a daily routine there and so on, it's not bad. Both amateurs and professionals could study there, and all year round, which is a very big plus. It seems to me that such objects, I don't know, one of the legarchs got confused and somehow sponsored, financed, not bad. And so difficult. In the highway in general kapets how difficult. Everything rests on the infrastructure, where to conduct, and the administration, there is good. We had local races before, when they were still held here, even in Novosibirsk, when there is nothing at all now. such that cancellation in a couple of days, goodbye. What is there to improve, there is no physical opportunity to hold these races. If the tracks are more fun, of course. Cruz Country we are not. In this regard, a big plus for MTB skating. If there is a forest under, I drove out and drove. There are no such restrictions anymore.
Ilya: So, where do you see yourself as an athlete in three years?
Alexander: to make a wish in general, life is unpredictable. I wanted to say, as long as the missiles don't fly, okay, don't escalate. It's not even that, but you know, when I was talking about shooting, I really thought I'd been doing this all my life, and at a certain point it turned into a routine and became uninteresting. And I'm like that, like that, I'm a certified instructor, I train people here, I have a title. that's all, but then you let go of the situation and move on. Perhaps the same will happen to the great in 3 years. You can't guess. But to restrain, of course, in the first place, it is already and. I have my own team in Novosibirsk. In general, cycling is more than good, unlike I'm tired of driving on the highway. I took the MTB-shnik and went to the forest. Really, in general, the picture is changing. So – oops! how fun, tired of MTB, dirt, something else like that, once on a highway, no speed for yourself, gave a sprint, high, stuck a lounger, something else like that. Diverse. in this regard, you can study for a long time, there are veterans, but after 3 years, I do not know, you need to solve issues as they come in. It is as it is. such microplanning for a year. calendar year, where you live. That is, in general, I will open the map, I do not plan to stay in this city, in Novosibirsk. It's just that there are some work burdens here, . And then I'll go somewhere anyway, I don't know, maybe back to And the first thing to do is look where you're going. Because in Novosibirsk there is some kind of party in Ufa. Now there is a lot of development there too. Aidar Kamilov is the owner of a bicycle there. what I have written here. This is our very cool store in Ufa. And besides that, he is also engaged in the development of professionals. That is, roughly speaking, I arrived there and there may be a very tough movement to go. Now, for example, we respond a little bit. Aidar S is also a master of sports in the past. the owner of the bike, also in the Board of trustees of the cycling federation, they started working with problems they have there are great to understand, I bought my first one there for 50-60 thousand fuji, and when I bought it, I look, there's a fashionable pinnorella hanging time trial, I'm like, how much does it cost? one million three hundred, it's 19 years old, one million three hundred, I'm not myself, . people also work with famous people, but because of the sanctions there was a problem. We started working with the Chinese. Now, for example, now both Litvils carry and Evolve. And they do the official distributor. That's all I'm going to put it to. Figuratively speaking, I went back there, and I don't know if I can cooperate with them there to test equipment, or something like that. Therefore. . . it's hard to guess. And so, of course, to chase. I want to chase while this heart is pounding. We have examples of men who, at the age of 60, at 62, finish with us in the pack. Uncle, some people don't walk anymore at the age of 50, their knees are bent. Therefore, it is not serious to make a wish. The situation here is difficult in the world. hope that everything is fine.
Ilya: The last two questions remain. The first one. The hardest track you've played on guitar?
Alexander: Yeah, I have a hobby of playing electric guitar, and DJing, by the way, for a long time. Track. I played heavy metal, started with metallica, then with lipknot, something else panther with leyer. From metallica, it's probably hard to call it heavy, he's very much a master of papets. such a technical topic. Not fond of metallica?
Ilya: I wanted to sing, I'll show you now. Master of Puppets.
Alexander: a couple of old recordings in the archive in general, metallica, paintkiller, a little bit of slayer, a little bit of these. In different ways. Heaviness can be perceived too differently. Didn't you play the guitar yourself?
Ilya: So I played just, I also played there and Appet Masters and some metallica tracks there too, yes.
Alexander: You can lower the first top two strings, just unscrew it so that it's already heavy. Therefore, the degree of severity here relative to the masters of pop-it decides.
Ilya: there still need to be thicker strings, to do a drop With there or a drop there, even these are all jokes.
Alexander: yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes
Ilya: Everyone should know, after all, the guitar was played. I thought everyone was playing guitar.
Alexander: Of course,
Ilya: So, and the last question. Did Caines save a man's life?
Alexander: a man's life. Not directly, but there were several situations when someone passed out in different situations, I had to try to pump it out. there are medical staff nearby and managed to provide assistance. so there is nothing like that. The question, of course, is extremely strange, but okay.
Ilya: That's it, the questions are over. There's something you haven't said.
Alexander: Yeah. I do not know the same questions
Ilya: I have the same ones, yes. I didn't ask about the Grader there, you generally answered about Moscow that it was very difficult to get there. even we, for example, will go from Novgorod to Moscow to the race, and then it's already there for logistics, money, and other things, such a blow. And how to get from Novosibirsk to here, it's already, .
Alexander: I will answer anyway, because they really ask questions. there are several factors here. the first like does not like. I didn't attend the race itself, but I watched the videos and the format is cool, as it seems to me unique in its own way. Tell me, did you probably get the idea originally from the American? is there an unbounce?
Ilya: No, we have founders here in Russia before, Reverse Side of the Road, it's Gravel King, it all started with them back in the 18th, in the 17th year, therefore, gravel racing, Trakka, Unbound and Russian ours, everything started with them.
Alexander: That is, I repeat, I have a concept in itself, we have a few homocs, they are up to three hours, I measure time, and I really like the highway and country, that is, there are elements and tactics like in the highway, and it's not as boring as on a regular road., you're driving on the highway. but this overdistance is just not mine, yes, this is the first one. The second is logistics, flight, planning, and by the way, you know that I forgot the most important thing - they ask me about gypsies here. When you asked me then in the personal account, I actually thought about what if, and looked at the calendar, and when, June is the month, right?
Ilya: June 20th, yes.
Alexander: Coincidentally, I have rare business trips, but I have two business trips in June, I'm going out as a senior in a sports team, and they are in June. And I'm like, I wanted to, I tried, but I couldn't. In addition, it is needed. there is, it is clear that you can rent, you can buy Twitter, but it's just driving, driving, what's the point, you need to prepare. to prepare, you need to roll for a long 4-5 hours, this should be the norm for long-term ones, this is a redrawing of the entire training plan and even your life to come to shit after 120 km, there is no desire, so if I also somehow asked you, remember about the mileage, I understood that 80-100 km is for a squirt for an experienced cyclist, but if the choice is a choice. I think it has expanded. What plan? If there is a dude, he rides for a year, for example, he drove 70 km maximum, and he's like, 100, 120 I made it. Is it 180 now, in my opinion, or how much?
Ilya: No, now everything has actually been updated a little for those who are weak there, or rather newcomers, for them 110, for those who are average, for them 150 and for there cluster A for them 180. There's a circular route, there's also for someone there, let's say three circles, four and five, so.
Alexander: that is, a strong person cannot jump into a cell. It turns out.
Ilya: Yes, that this is essentially a division of forces.
Alexander: that is, this is a bit of a difficulty. You know, I'm stoking both at home and in the region for accessibility. In what way? There is a bike marathon. Three hours, for example. A man comes, my courses. In addition to the fact that I train remotely, I sometimes take courses in the summer, I have several scheduled classes there. There are on the highway, there are on MTB, there are individual classes. There's someone coming like that. . . I need to learn there, for example, to go downhill. This is just such a level for beginners. I want to go to some competition, tell me. And I'm like, and we have 80 kilometers – it's minimal, and 40 people have never traveled. And this intermediate threshold is hard to jump. And, for example, near my house, here we have a duathlon for five minutes, and there is a relay race. You jump into the top twenty, on MTB, at the intersection. A small input threshold to just try. The person tried it, he liked it, he can jump a step further. Some kind of race, drive 50 kilometers. When superdistances are considered at once, the criteria for the level of physical fitness should be very strict. This, as I say, is an aeroman. You can train for half a year, half a year, drive a full aeroman for free, on a balloon. you'll kill yourself there sooner. I am not doing this now as some kind of claims, just my vision, when I work with absolute beginners, what they can do, just again for understanding, we go out and say, so, hold on to the wheel. I'm driving at a pulse of 130, the dude on the wheel is driving me on his doorstep by pulse. That is, so many people, he wants to, but he is a beginner, and if he goes 150, yes, there, On the Grader, the speed is less, it's not even a highway. there are 110, probably, as for the speed of 90 to drive. The speeds are small. in general, increased requirements for physical fitness. Here. Because of this. And then, continuing, changing life purposefully. I know, now they will say, what are you? Not a man or something? Yes, you're going, right? of course, yes, you're going, but when I was watching Lech Shchebelin, the whole msmk, who went to the ultra-remote station and even lit a cigarette there, is there 250 yes or how much?
Ilya: 250 yes.
Alexander: experienced people, I think, if they gave words, they said that they were not only a little tired, that everything was much more complicated there. Therefore ... there are a lot of related moments arising from the preparation, the alignment, and most importantly, to like it or not like it.
Ilya: I think that's the end of it. Now I'll put then what? I'll press stop, right?
Alexander: Yes, almost two hours, by the way, came out.
Ilya: Yeah.
Upcoming races and useful sections of FATRACING.
